These folks are great. They seem to be a small company that really cares and gave me a lot of personal service. I ordered a drop box that was going to be really challenging to fit into our drive. They discussed options with me and where successful at squeezing it in. Office staff was friendly. The billing was exactly as quoted.
You can't even recycle marked recyclable items any more. Now they charge you extra and say it isn't recyclable. This is the exact reason so much plastic ends up in the trash and oceans. Just got a $32 extra charge for something that was clearly recyclable (with the triangle recyclable mark on it) and double billed. Check your bills every month!
Ahhh, no wonder they have a 2-star rating on Google & Yelp. We have been a customer with HGD for 10 years - rates have been steadily rising while service has been steadily deteriorating. Now, they are not emptying our yard debris cans all the way, only halfway and blaming it on the cold weather, with a "nothing can be done" attitude. This is 3x now. They won't come back out to empty the can, only offering that in another 2 weeks - we can put a couple of paper yard debris bags. This doesn't help us at all and when I said, "I'... read more
Fast, reasonably priced, and always on time.
I have been a HGD customer for 12 years and dealing with them has been rough. I am generally on auto pay and never look at my bill or the charges. I just looked at my bill and saw two over heap charges for November. My lid is always down and if it is ever full it is because I didn't Need it dumped the week before. I pay for a monthly service these backdoor charges based on a driver's word is not a community type business. Those are practices simply for making money.
