I was travelling to the Manning area and got into town pretty late, and wanted a place to sleep for the night. I didn't want to spend a fortune just on a nights sleep. Admittedly, the reviews for the Hillcrest were stacked against it.... but for the price I thought I'd give it a try. The owner (who spoke very good english!!) came to the door at 11:30 pm, and booked me into a single for literally half the price of the other motel on the other end of town. The motel seemed nice. a bit dilapidated and dirty but was tolerable. The main problem was that the manager (he couldn't really speak English.) tried to charge us an extra 1600 dollars for our two rooms. It had river access if you could call it that, I did have fun fishing there though. The room itself smelled like puke and fabreze air refreshener mixed together. Avoid staying in this motel at all costs. The room was dirty, bed sheets were stained and the room smelled terrible. This motel is extremely old and seems to not have had any touch ups since original construction. Do yourself a massive favour and stay at the Garden Court Motel, or even better the Nova Inn.
