My grandfather, Richarf Croft, came from Kentucky on the train with his wife and several children. There were very few jobs in Temple, Tx. And finally he found this job of caring for this cemetary. My mother, Edith, was born in 1913 in the house that no longer stands on the property of this cemetery. Eventually the family hsd grown to eleven children, all of whom were born on this land.
