Does not get much worse than this builder Horrible work short cuts quality is terrible. Then send people out to do work that dont know what they are doing. After they get your money they dont care. Dont trust what they say they they are great at **** **** And dont expect work to be done right or fixed right.

Hillcrest Builders is in frequent communication with the customer and has remedied all issues at ****************** expense. The perception that we don't care after customer has paid us, is truly disheartening as we are currently incurring expenses to remedying an issue on a buyer supplied item. Buyer supplied items are not warrantied, yet we working diligently to identify any potential defects. We will continue to work with the customer until their satisfaction.
Luckily, we never got to the build. I worked almost exclusively with the owner, Oyvind, who was quite accommodating initially. I signed a contract with him in April 2022. Was told building would start in Aug, then Sep, then Nov, then Dec. Our daughter and her family moved a tiny house onto our property to live in the summer of 2021 while awaiting for our home to be built so they could buy and remodel our farmhouse. BEWARE!!!! Our building experience was just awful. There is ZERO communication. We have documented all calls. They took almost 2 years to build our house. We were forced to change siding color then they up charged us to change the trim color. They charged us an extra 2300 for concrete saying prices went up. If they finished our house in the time they promised we would not of had that. BUYER BEWARE -- Major flooding and NO responses. We have been in our home for 3 years now and just experienced our SECOND flood. There were about 6 points of entry where water was seeping into our basement. We already had issues with moisture in the windows and flooding and had to undergo MAJOR construction to take care of this. We JUST got our home back together and now will be restarting the restoration/reconstruction process. No sign or mention from ******, the owner. Hillcrest is absolutely awful to work with. Like everyone else on here, they have TERRIBLE communication. When they want to close the sale Oyvind is available all the time - but once you start to build and especially once the house is 'finished' NO ONE responds. We have problems with all of our doors dead bolting properly. They came to 'fix' the deadbolt in our mudroom and left the frame completely mangled. We have been addressing issues on the customers home throughout their time living in the home, but not as quickly as anyone would hope. We have many customer homes to address with minimal staff due to labor shortages that our economy is experiencing as well as labor shortages with subcontractors. I am very unhappy with Hillcrest Builders. I have been reaching out to the owner by phone, emails and letters for the past several years but he has not had the courtesy of acknowledging my issues. The most serious complaint is the quality and installation of windows. Shortly after moving in, I expressed concern about the amount of moisture and ice buildup on the interior of all my windows. I was told it was because of the moisture in new construction and it would correct itself. Years later, I am still dealing with cold draf... read more
Once you close, and they get all your money, nothing gets completed. Almost 2 years now, and still no landscaping, we have lived in mud, and dirt for 2 years now, nobody at Hillcrest cares. Please stay away from this company.
