Joel sold me land that is in a tax lean. That he promised was cleared up by him. When I went to record the document nothing was said about any tax,fees, any thing outstanding. 2 months later I got a notice Thatcher property land I now own is delinquent and I have 15 days to pay up. The price was $1500 for the lot, city sewer and water, electric and sidewalks in the city limits of Dayton, Iowa. The buyer received a quit claim deed and was told he would be responsible for any taxes and costs to transfer the deed. The taxes due according to the Dayton County Tax Office was $993 and should have been satisfied at the time of the recording of the deed. All I can say is check Joel barrick s court records. And don't be afraid to take him to court. We were so screwed by him, but judge ruled in our favor.
