Twice this week, The Ruffed Grouse in Highlands screwed us on our reservations- caring more on making a buck - than caring about repeat ( use to be anyway) customers! They know restaurants are limited in off season, BUT , when they have kitchen trouble they fail to notify customers and instead offer only a COLD menu service or nothing at all - twice in one week no less. Recently stayed here for a girls weekend! We had the best time! Room 6 is absolutely beautiful and the perfect size, cozy and quaint! The trout at the Ruffed Grouse is some of the best I have ever had! We enjoyed our time in Highlands and look forward to coming back to stay at HMH again!
Our children bought us an overstay for Christmas and would could not be more pleased with our experience! Our room was clean,cozy and comfortable. We had a fabulous dinner in the tavern. The service was excellent and we will be back.
Perfect hotel for a winter getaway! Walkable to many shops and restaurants. Great bar and outdoor seating for good weather days along with a couple fireplaces inside. Also, just a quick dive to hiking trails.
Our recent trip to Highlander Mountain House was the perfect weekend away. The front desk staff was incredibly helpful with helping me book one of their Main House Deluxe King Rooms. We had never been to Highlands and timed our trip with a big snow storm. When we arrived we were welcomed and settled into our beautiful room.
