I am deeply disappointed in the way Highland Memorial Funeral Home maintains and cares for the baby and child burial section. This area is supposed to be a peaceful and meaningful place where families can remember their babies and children. Instead, it feels as though the memorials and decorations families leave behind are not treated with the care and respect they deserve. Terrible decision choosing this location to have my kids laid to rest. The children’s area shouldn’t come with this much headaches after such a loss. My wife along with other parents like to decorate the children’s plots for the holidays, and rightfully so bringing some festivity to a sorrowful situation, but for one reason or another ours keeps getting pulled down, cut up, etc. Terrible establishment to go with if you wanted to bring life to your area, great place if you want to deal with bullshit.

It’s heartbreaking that I even have to write this, but after a YEAR of repeated issues with Highland Memorial Park, my family and I are done staying quiet. We understand and respect cemetery rules. What we do NOT understand is why those rules seem to be enforced differently depending on the family. We were told to remove items from our babies’ graves, and we complied. HORRIBLE, DISGUSTING, LACK OF COMPASSION, and LACK OF RESPECT TO FAMILIES. RUN FAR! Imagine the immense grief that comes with losing infants (twins). You hope a funeral setting and maintenance would provide care, empathy, and sympathy towards the grief of the family as a whole. THIS PLACE DOES NOT DO THAT! Instead they tear down, cut, and remove memorial decorations with no clear communication and no care.
