In the late 90's, I took a chance and left a well-paying engineering job to enroll in the Fine Woodworking program at Rockingham Community College in North Carolina. At RCC, I learned all about hand and power tools, furniture construction and design, finishing, and general woodworking.

Despite squeezing my small job into his busy schedule on short notice Wes was efficient, dependable and did excellent work.

Our church engaged Wes Highfill to repair the rotted sills of our 19th century sanctuary. The challenges of this job included not only dealing with old lead paint and rotted sills, but also maintaining some level of historical authenticity. One sill was completely disintegrated and required finding a large, period-appropriate timber. The result was simply outstanding and I encourage anyone interested to stop by the church and see his work. We couldn't recommend him more.
Couldn't be happier in selecting Highfill to perform work on an existing deck requiring additional support. Consultation included recommendations aligned with current code as well as honest assessment of materials and costs. The attention to detail and craftsmanship surpasses standard practice. Highly recommend Highfill for jobs of all types. Worth the value!!!
