Excellent food, great beer, my service experience bad. I'm sad to say I have mixed feelings about this place! I have nothing but wonderful food (sandwiches here are divine) and excellent beer, but all three times I have been here, I've had the worst service. I must note we sat upstairs when it was really , and we had the same guy wait on us two of the three times. But we had to wait a long time to be waited on, and he never came back to check on us once. Nice and comfortable, very casual and although I'm not crazy about beer, I do like their "ruby." They brew a lot of their beers on site and also have mixed drinks and wine. But my favorite thing is that you can order a basket of tater tots. I mean, how great is that? Sandwiches are good too. And yet... I always focus on the tots. You can always get a sandwich and then have tots instead of fries. Just do it. You'll like it. Oh yeah, this is owned by McMenamin's, which is an Oregon-based group of restaurants/bars.
Everything they do is yummy... the beer is made across town, the food is cheap and awesome, the service is okay... I have a very special place in my heart for anything and everything that McMennimen's does. They have hotels, bars, resorts, a winery, a distillery, a coffee roasting facillity and on and on and on....
Great People The McMenamins Pub is always a great choice. The food is consistently good. The service is provided by seemingly happy workers with good attitudes. I have never been disappointed. The food is fresh and the prices are fair.
Cute Pub good food/drinks I like the atmosphere of this pub. The wait staff is friendly but not the fastest (even when there aren't a lot of customers). There is this Ruby beer that tastes kind of like grapefruit which is good but different and not everyone might be into it. The cajun fries are really really good, I would definitely recommend them. The prices are reasonable, nothing too extravagant.
Poor Service, such a shame This is a cute little pub in NW, decent food and the nice Mc Min's atmosphere, but the service is always the pits. Everytime we go we wait and wait for servie, then wait and wait for food or drinks. Just a few good servers and the place could really turn around. The last time we where there a waitress actually followed us outside to complain about how little her tip was. We'd left a penny after we waited 32 minutes for our tab. A good place for lunch The Blue Moon is in a funky old building and everything looks like it has a story to tell. The food is the typical McMenamins fare and it's good as usual. Yes, the service can be slow for no apparent reason even when the restaurant isn't busy, but if you're not in a hurry this is a good place to hang for awhile.
Always a nice stop I love Blue Moon first because if the name, which is what attracted me there and now I go because it is good. Lovely food nice wine and fun place to relax
Good food and drinks On the southeast corner of 15th and Broadway - you'll need to go up the stairs to get to the restaurant. This bar has the standard McMenamins atmosphere - quirky art, good atmosphere and so-so service. The food is good and they serve great McMenamins beer.
