I made my first telescope purchase and I would highly recommend High Point Scientific. The original telescope I was looking to purchase was on backorder with no solid date for stock. But Kurt Kimbell replied to my inquiry message and recommended an alternate that was comparable in size and performance to the one I was looking at. I recently purchased a ZWO 80mm APO telescope from High Point Scientific. Four days later, before I even received the scope, the price for this telescope dropped by $200. I contacted High Point asking if they could reimburse me for the cost difference, or provide store credit. I received a rapid response stating that, while this was not their normal policy, they were happy to reimburse me the $200. This allowed me to purchase the scope at the new lower price. I've been buying astronomy equipment from High Point since 2017 when I first started my journey and they have been first rate ever since. They have taken the time to help me understand the options that are available for a certain need, explain how different components work, and guide me through the decision process. They are my first stop for technical questions and just recently helped me choose the best auto-guiding configuration for an 8" EdgeHD telescope.
These people are really great. 1). Lowest prices; 2). great selection; 3). sterling customer service; 4). Very prompt shipping; 5). Very knowledgeable technical support; 6) reasonable, easy return policy. I've spent five figures with them in the last two years and I feel like very penny I spent was worth it. A lot of the equipment has a flat learning curve (if you're confused, that's because I said it correctly), and that's where the "non-commissioned gear experts" are invaluable.
