I visited the tower yesterday while passing through the area on US-23. Unfortunately, low-lying cloud cover blotted out most of the view, except for openings in a few directions. What I did see made me want to visit again when the weather is clear. I had trouble finding the tower, because I saw no sign or marker at the hairpin turnoff to the left from High Knob Road (VA-619).
