What a terrible hotel! I booked the hotel (via booking.com) for 1 week in December, 2024. I booked the hotel in January, 2024 -- 11 months in advance. I have a friend visiting from Thailand and this is a very important trip for me. I received an email from booking.com on October 10, 2024 -- two months before the reservation -- advising that "High Country Inn informed us that they can no longer accommodate you". Close to downtown. The room overlooking the main street had a nice balcony where we could sit and enjoy the view. The room we originally booked, a junior suite, was on the second floor and you had to go up and down a few stairs to get to it. That was going to be a problem for us because of a bad knee. We spoke with Mark at the front desk and he helped us locate a room on the second floor that was accessible completely by elevator. We were very satisfied with our room and the hotel in general. It's a bit dated, but the hotel is clean and well maintained. The staff is very helpful and friendly. And free parking in a secured garage was a great bonus! Our room was also clean, odor-free and comfortable. The housekeeping staff did a really nice job with the room every day.
