As a local journalist in West Virginia, I was targeted by this firm over a single news image that was clearly protected under fair use. Rather than contacting my publication or providing a legitimate takedown notice, they went straight to threats — demanding $1,400 under threat of $150,000 in statutory damages if I didn’t comply.
