I gave this 2 stars only because of our server. He was attentive and kind. The food… terrible. I ordered my stake medium and my husband medium rare. I was served his stake so we just switched. Ok fine… BUT… the potatoes and vegetables were cold. In fact, the couple behind us returned their food several times due to that same issue. We decided to just pay and leave. Chelsea is absolutely one of the best servers I’ve had and this is my new go-to place in hiawassee! Their food and drinks never disappoint and the atmosphere has a little for everyone! I’d highly recommend the hideaway to anyone visiting Hiawassee!

One of our favorite local places. Chelsea and Alyssa are so nice too. Good food, drink specials and good people. We were there this week when a group of ladies were there on their way to a movie we heard. They gave Chelsea no notice they were on a time limit and of course wanted individual checks. We along with others in the place watched as these ladies gave her a tough time because she was the only server and they were in a rush. Ten local ladies made a reservation for 5 pm. The table was ready and the bartender was nice. There were about eight other people there at the bar and pool table. The service was very slow. Meals were served about 15 minutes a part. If you even got your meal. There were 3 orders of fish tacos with two orders having no fish in them. When we expressed concern about the delay we were told there was only one cook and bartender on duty. Very poor service and food. The name Hide Away should be Run Away....don't go there.

They have really great food but won't deal with any delivery service or have their own delivery so that pretty much sucks for people who can't get there. They do have fantastic food otherwise I wouldn't care if they delivered or not.
