We came here with our 12 year old, diabetic cat having a seizure due to his blood sugar being too low. Dr. Kay was phenomenal. She was calm, reassuring and decisive about the appropriate course of treatment. I knew my fluff nugget would need to stay to stabilize. Long story short, Walter, the patient, came home not to worse for the wear. I received updates throughout his stay and we were not surprised by the reasonable cost for the care. We started coming to the practice when we adopted a puppy that ended up having worms. Our vet wasn’t able to see us and we called around to several vets in the area with no luck. Thankfully we ended up calling Hickory Veterinary Primary Care and they were able to get us in the same day! We’ve switched both of our dogs here for their Primary Care since then. I’ve tried multiple vets in the area for my senior dog—this is where we’re staying! Flexible scheduling, clean, no wait times—and, yes, they answer the phones! I’ve been here a few times and they consistently take their time, provide thoughtful advice, and made my nervous dog feel comfortable. Their recommendations had a significant positive impact on my dog’s joint pain that other vets hadn’t been able to address.
