Really disappointing experience with Hertz on William St in Sydney. We prepaid a rental using our joint credit-card account. The Hertz Gold reservation was in my name, but the card used for payment was my husband’s card on that account. At pickup, Hertz refused to honour the prepaid rate because the names didn’t match. I showed the transaction on our account and even offered to bring my husband in to verify the payment. I was told that wouldn’t matter. Result: about $70 extra at the counter. She explained it very kindly and carefully, and I was able to pick up the car in the parking lot without any problems. I rented it for a whole day, you can return it at any time, even after 17:00 when the store closes. There is a key drop box. There is a little distance to the gas station, but that is also described in the manual. When returning, you need to press the buzzer at the entrance of the parking lot and have the staff open it. Questa mattina mi sono recato intorno le 10 per il ritiro della vettura, ed ho trovato il peggio... La macchina che avevo prenotato si presentava ammaccata e sporca con all'interno il peggio. Quindi mi dicono che non avevano altre macchine. Chiedo con gentilezza l'upgrade e mi danno una FORD EVEREST in condizioni peggiori delle prime. Macchina completamente rigata e sporca ( allego foto). L'unica cosa da fare sarebbe stata annullare la prenotazione e rimanere a Sydney e prendere un'aereo, ma ciò rovinava l'intera mia vacanza... read more
Car was good. On return of car, did not get receipt to prove that I returned car with key, full tank, no damage, clean, they told me to trust them and will get an email in a few hours
Typical car rental, clean and empty. Staff was friendly but Hertz is a garbage company with insane prices and poor selection. I showed up a little early and had to wait over 30 minutes for the car to be ready despite being the first customer of the day
