Do NOT schedule a vehicle pickup from the airport via Hertz. We had to figure out for ourselves that the location to receive the vehicle was in Foley after landing at the Gulf Shores airport, DESPITE there being hertz vehicles parked at the FBO site. There is no shuttle to the Foley location and we had to uber there (which of course was >$50 for a 15 minute ride). There is no information about this on the website or the confirmation emails. The car was ridiculously expensive! It was filthy, it said maintenance needed, I killed bugs and spiders inside the car. I would never recommend them.
I did my first car rental as a 71 year old and drove from Mobile to Foley I had my windows down and smoked 3 cigarettes on the drive. I turned the car in and 2 hours later I got a text receipt for a charge that said cigarettes ashes found in the car so a $500 charge for cleaning. I called to protest saying I wasn't told and there wasn't a sign in the car. She said there's a no smoking on the key fob I said my 71 year old eyes couldn't even see which button was for opening so I had to push all till I hit the right one. She sa... read more
"My experience with Hertz in Foley, AL was extremely disappointing, and I strongly advise others to avoid it. My Jeep dealership reserved a car for me while mine was in the shop, and I even received a confirmation call directly from Hertz saying they had a vehicle. However, upon arrival at the Hertz counter, I was abruptly told they had no car available. This lack of reliable service and misinformation caused significant inconvenience. Steer clear of this location."
Keisha was great but a big disappointment that mine, along with others waiting as well, had no cars waiting. Doors locked with note stating out picking up cars which is not that big of a deal but our flight was 2.5 hrs late so there's no reason to not be prepared for us when we all arrived. No compensation offered or break given on bill at all either.
