If I could give zero stars I would. As a President’s Circle member, I rent vehicles monthly for work. With that said, I’ve never in all my years of renting vehicles have ever experienced anything like this. My vehicle had mechanical issues(not my fault) and when I swapped it out(as Hertz suggested), the manager of this location ended my original rental(charged $710 with a one way drop fee) and then charged me another $785. I rented a car there and when the guy asked me how long I would need it, I told him from now (time of the rental) until Sunday at 1pm. He told me the price and printed off the receipt. This first car was NOT cleaned out. There was trash, personal belongings, cat hair, and the smell of cat urine in the car. I called and explained that and they offered me another car, but it was very inconvenient to run across town. Very unprofessional to rent out a dirty and smelly car. DO NOT RENT HERE! Hertz is facing a backlog of lawsuits due to systematic mistreatment of their customers. They are losing money at such a rate that they are accusing every customer who rents from them of damaging a vehicle and charging them a several hundred dollar fee as a way to try to control losses. Basically scamming everyone because they are unprofitable. Lawyers have mostly learned not to represent Hertz because of these systematic mistakes and mistreatment of customers. Absolutely RUDE. I explained my husband needed the car and I was 7 hours away. She told me to drive from Rapid City. I told Her loudly I DIDN'T need it in Rapid City, I needed it for my husband in Sioux Falls. She said no car for you and hung up.
$400 dollars a day for a rental car is insane. Crazy AF!!
