I rented a car here. The confirmation e-mail from Hertz stated a total of 521 dollars. After showing up to retrieve the car, I got a push notification from my bank saying I had paid almost 1100 dollars. I reached out to the person that assisted me, and he told me that the extra charges where due to my acceptance of all the additional insurance on my Hertz Gold profile, and that it could not be undone at the desk. I have frequently experienced issues at this Hertz location (Torrance – Marriott Redondo Beach). Sometimes the vehicle booked in the correct category is not available, sometimes the car is not ready on time, and service can be inconsistent. During my most recent rental, I booked a Kia K5 (Standard 2/4 Door) but received a Nissan Sentra, a lower category vehicle.
