I recently rented what was supposed to be a brand-new Toyota Camry from Hertz in Calgary, but at the counter they told me I was getting a “free upgrade” to a Nissan Kicks instead. Sounded okay at first, so I went with it for my trip to Saskatoon. Big mistake. The car drove terribly the whole way. Fuel economy was awful – the tank emptied way before the estimated range, forcing me to stop and refuel midway even though I’d prepaid for a full tank at pickup.
