The car was fine but we had a terrible experience returning it. We were told to leave the car on the 5th floor and drop the car keys in a box but, when we went to return the car, that was marked for a different car rental company. The only Hertz sign was on floor 6 and there was no box to drop off the keys. On top of that, the office was closed the whole weekend so we couldn't communicate with a representative. While the staff members were friendly, the overall experience was a disaster. My trip was delayed by nearly 2 hours because the car wasn’t cleaned or ready on time. More importantly, this branch has serious procedural and billing errors. Due to their internal paperwork mistakes, I was incorrectly charged a significant amount on my credit card. ​Despite the polite service, the customer service and back-office handling are a mess. The Hertz at Treasure Island was the absolute worst rental car experience I’ve had. Not only did they not have MY car ready, but they had ZERO cars available - for me or anyone in the super long line behind me. And then they didn’t even offer me a refund, or options to get a car - or a phone number to call somewhere else. I was just out of luck. My experience on 4/1/26 After spending the $20.00+ to get a Lyft from the airport the TI, I was wandering around looking for HERTZ signage and there was none to be found; there is only a DOLLAR sign behind the desk. As I previously checked in before arriving, I mentioned this to the guy at the counter and he told me there were no vehicles available and they didn’t know when they would have any.
