My wife flew into Raleigh Durham Airport last month, and had to wait in line for over an hour to get her car (not Hertz), so I was dreading getting my car. I arrived at the airport and Hertz earlier than expected, so I was expecting problems. Boy was I wrong. I had payed for, and had downloaded my license when I booked, did online checking. when I got to the counter, no line, and within 1 minute of the staff asking my name, she told me where exactly my car was parked! Predatory billing practices designed to take advantage of the trust of their frequent renters. If you rent Hertz I’d keep your eyes open for the class action suit in the next few years.

The SUV I rented from Hertz at the Raleigh, NC airport recently was terrible. It was full of exterior damage and although it “only” had 26,000 miles (which is ridiculous for a rental car company in 2026!) it rode like a vehicle with 100,000 miles on it. It literally shook on the highway and had to be terribly misaligned. I’m very disappointed, especially since other people we vacationed with and who rented from other car rental agencies had vehicles in much better condition with 50% of the miles that we had.
