I moved into Heron’s Key in 2017 at the age of 77. There has not been a day that I haven’t been so grateful for the decision I made. It is such an upbeat place to live, with positive people all around and sooooo many activities to occupy us.
My husband and I moved to Herons Key almost 7 years ago from Vermont so we could be closer to our daughter and son-in-law who live in Portland. We moved sooner than we'd anticipated once we learned that the kind of apartment we wanted was available right away. We have been grateful ever since that we moved when we were in our mid 70's. Our experience is a bit unique in that we weren't looking for a retirement community when we stumbled upon Heron's Key. We were actually looking for something to add to our stock portfolio. However, upon hearing about all that Heron's Key offers, especially the concept of continuing care as we have no children, we decided that this was meant to be. Adrienne and I moved into Heron's Key a bit over four years ago, following visits with and glowing reports from my sister and her husband, who moved here virtually the nanosecond the place opened.
