WARNING! - STUCK WITH HUGE TAX BILL! - DO NOT USE! We closed a real estate transaction here. A couple months later, I got a $19,000 tax bill from Travis County. Unbeknownst to me, the seller had claimed multiple homestead exemptions for multiple years. When I contacted Heritage Title about this issue, they were unsympathetic, defensive, and offered no help other than to suggest I file an insurance claim. confusing and outdated secure messaging system. asked for my approval for certain items that needed to be rushed but didn't disclose associated fees upfront. no instructions or explanation on how to fill out documents.
