My father owned a men’s hat store for 65 years in Chicago. I started working at New World Hatters when in was 5 years old and heard of the legend that is Henry’s. Through the years we bought and sold inventory with Paul. Great business partners. But I never had the chance to see the store. First time hat buyer. It was almost like Uncle Joe knew exactly what I wanted. Great selection and awesome customer service.
The new downtown location looks great, inside and out. Hopefully, clientele new and old will be able to find their way to it's slightly off-the-beaten-path location on the edge of Eastern Market's main attractions. Attentive, friendly and knowledgeable service. Amazingly broad selection. Highly recommend a visit, even if only to visit an icon of Detroit's retail history. You'll have a fun visit.
I visited the Southfield store 10/20/17. I had a great shopping experience. Friendly atmosphere, hats that fit (not one size fits all) and yes with help I found the hat I was looking for, actually I found several and I will be a return customer.
