Our daughter found him easy to talk to. She had not been able talk to other therapists. He was able to help her alot with her depression without using any medications.
Dr. Skinner really takes the time to listen and get to know my son. My son even thinks he's "cool." he also seems to really know how to use medications effectively and my son is doing better than he was before.
Excellent at developing rapport with my son. Listens to both of us and comes up with a treatment plan that my teenager feels comfortable with and is compliant with. Did not jump to a diagnosis. Flexible, thoughtful and respectful. Never keeps us longer than necessary but never seems rushed if either of us seems to need more time. We are grateful to have him as part of our son's team!
Awful experiences. Made me sit through a 30 minute appointment just so he could get paid. My sister had to cancle two appointments and he told her to find a new psychiatrist.
After 7 years of looking for help, Dr. Skinner was the first health care professional to really listen, observe and diagnose our child. He is excellent with children/youths, intelligently navigates through their world, and has an endearing and relatable character. Our son is receiving the help he needs with the medicine he requires, and now has a better chance at living a quality life.
He never disclosed that he was an intern and not yet a psychiatrist. He prescribed me too much medication causing me to have serotonin overdose, which was the most painful sensation I've ever had. I had to be in the hospital for a week. Worst doctor I've had, and I've had many.
