Cape Fear Riverboats, Inc. was founded in 1987. It is the brainchild of Captain Carl Marshburn. "I was running scuba dive charters and quite frankly was scared of the liability involved. That, coupled with some bad weather, made me rethink my line of work. I went to the Caribbean for a vacation and on the way back I saw an article about Stone Mountain Boats in an airplane magazine. Black River Nature Cruise I got a chance to go on a Black River Nature Cruise offered by the Cape Fear Riverboats and it was an amazing experience. I am a local photographer so for me it was a perfect opportunity to get some photos graphs of wildlife in this area. I was actually surprised to see a few deer along the way as well as an osprey perched on its nest and of course a bunch of marsh birds.
