Cape Fear Riverboats, Inc. was founded in 1987. It is the brainchild of Captain Carl Marshburn. "I was running scuba dive charters and quite frankly was scared of the liability involved. That, coupled with some bad weather, made me rethink my line of work. I went to the Caribbean for a vacation and on the way back I saw an article about Stone Mountain Boats in an airplane magazine. Black River Nature Cruise I got a chance to go on a Black River Nature Cruise offered by the Cape Fear Riverboats and it was an amazing experience. I am a local photographer so for me it was a perfect opportunity to get some photos graphs of wildlife in this area. I was actually surprised to see a few deer along the way as well as an osprey perched on its nest and of course a bunch of marsh birds. The absolute most rude customer service experience. The people that answer the phone for the booking of the cruises are nasty, rude and zero help. The are so snippy when you ask questions or call back to clarify details. We were going on the sunset cruise as a work outing with a large group and the experience of booking the event was a huge headache with this company. For the amount of money spend I think we should have at least gotten a friendly voice on the other end of the phone. Good Luck to all cruise goers.
