We brought our Lexus in for its regular check up.. then asked about the shark fin that was broken. We were told that the repair would cost $1,200 to replace the entire mechanism. When the shark fin fell off a few days later.. we realized it was only a cover that needed to be glued on. We ordered a new cover from a Lexus dealership in Iowa and replaced it ourselves. The service department had to know that it is only a cover.. the mechanism was fine. We no longer trust our Lexus dealership. Very sad.
