I've been going through domestic violence for over 24 years And I was suggested to stay at the help now domestic violent shelter. I am so thankful to organizations like Help Now for all the love and care they give to people in need. In my personal experience, I am especially thankful to Ms. Ricky whom I met at the shelter. I was truly blessed to have meet her. If you're not Hispanic I would not go to the shelter. They are very racist to anyone who is not Hispanic. I have seen and heard the staff members talk about other non-hispanic residents with Hispanic residents talking about them in a unprofessional manner. I never imagined that seeking safety for myself and my child would leave us feeling less safe than when we arrived.
