A fun little cabin not too far away from Butte. Excellent views of the back of Table and Red Mountain. I took my dad up here to camp in the cabin, we had a great time. Cooked a pizza in the wood-stove, later that night, popped some popcorn. Had an ok sleep, the pads have been replaced looks like. (No more Gasoline smell some people had complained about) I did call Butte Ranger District after my stay to make them aware that the Wood-stove wasn’t breathing very well. Updated stay 10/3/22 Please see review on 9/22/21 for more details. Updated info for current stay: Out of 30 USFS cabins/lookouts we have stayed this has the best mattresses by far! Worn out wooden picnic table has been replaced with a new metal one! Thanks! Broom was replaced. Still still is no mop head for handle. Thank you whoever cleaned the windows! Cell phone signal improved. We have Verizon & now got 4G LTE 1.3 miles by road from the cabin at the big rock pinnacle & at the parking area by the Cherry Creek Trail sign o... read more
We didn't stay at the Station itself but the ride up there is beautiful and full of amazing colors
Terrific spot with a crystal vein near by. Cabin is wood . Heats up well. Not Haunted yet.
