Expensive but dowdy Hello Boutique is yet another in the string of expensive clothing stores which line Chapel Street in downtown New Haven. It has a great location, next to Atticus and Scoozi, but always seems to be fairly empty. The target audience is middle-aged and older women, and a lot of the clothing is just bizzare, and priced well up-scale. The mannikins in the window are always worth a look to wonder if anyone would actually ever wear what was on display there.
buyer beware Nowhere on their website does Hello Boutique mention that their BKG sweaters are not only not in stock, but are made to order. They also do not see fit to track backorders. Promises made for deliveries are not honored. Employees are cordial enough, but how far does that go?
