I love these guys I have been taking my three geriatric pets there for about 4 years. Dr. McDonald was wonderful, especially with my scaredy cat, but he has retired now. Dr. Dowell is good too, and continues to give high quality care and takes the time to talk to you and explain what is going on. The office staff knows us by name and are very friendly and helpful. I can't imagine them hanging up on someone twice in one day, but give them another chance, natalie m, and you won't regret it.
This rating is only attributed to the "receptionist/secretary" I called several different clinics in San Diego area today. This was the only place I called (TWICE). Both times a female answered the phone and requested I wait on hold. I agreed to hold both times and waited a few minutes before eventually hanging up. I don't have a problem with having to hold for a MOMENT. But then I call back some time later and the same exact thing happens. This is a ridiculous way to handle calls. Great Vet Office! We highly recommend Dr. Macdonald and his wonderful staff at Helix Pet Hospital. He is an excellent doctor, and really takes time to answer your questions during the office visit. We have two cats and a dog, and we're so happy to have such a great vet for them. Also, he only recommends needed vaccines for indoor cats, not the same amount as for outdoor cats. Saves you money!
