Customer Dr Dowell and staff are great! They have taken care of our two dogs for years, always helpfull, and can usually get an appointment same day for emergencies. Dr Dowell responds personally to email questions offering not only his advise as a vet but also as a dog owner. The dogs love them also ! I highly recommend them and woudn't think of taking our 'kids' anywhere else.
The best in town I love them a lot!!! they are good with all of my dogs. Never have to waite a log time and all the staff is very friendly... i recomend them you will be happy and if you have to take a drive to see then it will be worth it.
Excellent staff I have been going to Helix Pet Hospital for over 14 years now. The staff is absolutely the best. They are friendly, polite and well trained. We have been taking our 3 Jack Russells were concerned when the former Dr. Mcdonald retired. Since Dr. Dowell has taken over I feel I have been getting the same excellent service that I have expected. He really cares about animals and takes his time to explain all the options you have when caring for older pets. I would however recommend going T-F if possible as he does ... read more
Dr. Dowell and Helix Staff are the best! I've taken my dogs to Helix for years. Dr. Macdonald was great and I went back after he retired only because the staff is so great. Then I got to know Dr. Dowell and wouldn't go anywhere else now (even though there are many vets closer to me and more convenient). I trust these folks!
The Best...... I love Helix Pet Hospital... I take my five dogs there and won't go anywhere else! There is at least two other Vets near my house and I drive out of my way just to go to Helix Pet Hospital. It's nothing fancy but, the Staff is GREAT and you and your pets get treated with respect...
I love these guys I have been taking my three geriatric pets there for about 4 years. Dr. McDonald was wonderful, especially with my scaredy cat, but he has retired now. Dr. Dowell is good too, and continues to give high quality care and takes the time to talk to you and explain what is going on. The office staff knows us by name and are very friendly and helpful. I can't imagine them hanging up on someone twice in one day, but give them another chance, natalie m, and you won't regret it.
This rating is only attributed to the "receptionist/secretary" I called several different clinics in San Diego area today. This was the only place I called (TWICE). Both times a female answered the phone and requested I wait on hold. I agreed to hold both times and waited a few minutes before eventually hanging up. I don't have a problem with having to hold for a MOMENT. But then I call back some time later and the same exact thing happens. This is a ridiculous way to handle calls. Great Vet Office! We highly recommend Dr. Macdonald and his wonderful staff at Helix Pet Hospital. He is an excellent doctor, and really takes time to answer your questions during the office visit. We have two cats and a dog, and we're so happy to have such a great vet for them. Also, he only recommends needed vaccines for indoor cats, not the same amount as for outdoor cats. Saves you money!
