I can not say enough good things about Dr. Hedrick and her entire team! I had colo-rectal surgery to remove a section of my colon that was diseased due to a severe Diverticulitis flare up and stricture. Everyone I interacted with at UVA in Charlottesville was skilled, professional, and easy to talk to. It has only been a month from my surgery which normally calls for a 2 month recovery period and I am feeling great! I only wish I could express to everyone on the surgical team how truly grateful I am for their expertise!!
UVA Hospital Dr. Hedrick is the reason why I am still here. I am truly thankful to Dr. Hedrick for her caring and loving support during my Cancer Surgery and post treatment. First surgery: She fixed a botched iliostomy (performed at a different hospital by a different doctor) and removed a blockage in my colon. I will never understand how she fixed that iliostomy. It hurt terribly the 3 months I had it because the bags wouldn't stay on and afterwards it much better to deal with. My second surgery was 3 months later when she removed the iliostomy.
