Great experience! The owner was polite, friendly and very knowledgeable. Hecht sewing is magical!
Staying in Brooklyn for a week and wanted to take a look at this generational shop. Horrible experience, not allowed to enter and turned away. Very disappointed as it looked like they had some vintage sewing machine gems.
A spectacular collection of small antiques, ephemera and collectibles. Every square inch is occupied, but on close inspection, in a very organized and methodical way. Looking up, there's a second mezzanine level hiding in the shadows with taxidermy and bigger items. A New York oddity in the best way, a treasure chest to explore on multiple visits. The owner Steve was personable, friendly and inquired about my own interests and collecting.
The American Pickers appearance was good , but the stories the owner told were greatly embellished. His character & desire to make a buck overshadowed the historical value of the place- very disappointing.
