A spectacular collection of small antiques, ephemera and collectibles. Every square inch is occupied, but on close inspection, in a very organized and methodical way. Looking up, there's a second mezzanine level hiding in the shadows with taxidermy and bigger items. A New York oddity in the best way, a treasure chest to explore on multiple visits. The owner Steve was personable, friendly and inquired about my own interests and collecting.
The American Pickers appearance was good , but the stories the owner told were greatly embellished. His character & desire to make a buck overshadowed the historical value of the place- very disappointing.
Just saw Mr Hecht on American Pickers. I must say this was the best episode I have ever watched. The history of their family business , the history of the garment district was incredible! Next Time I’m in NYC it would be worth the stop just to talk with him and his family !! Thank you!
