We have tried many chinese restaurants in Columbia. In our opinion, Taste Place is one of the better ones. Their hot and sour soup has a great taste and is not just broth it is loaded with tofu, mushrooms and vegetables. The egg drop soup and wonton soup is very good as well. Plus the noodles are not the thin noodle strips, they are the wide crispy ones. The food is fresh and good quality. We have had their moo shu a number of times. Have also brought friends that enjoyed their meal as well.
If you are looking for a taste of regional Chinese cuisine… this is the place! Be bold, be adventurous and try something from the traditional menu (I’ve uploaded a full menu 6/26). This restaurant feels like it belongs in a Chinatown in New York, Philly or San Fran. IMO, it’s about 50% Sichuan/Chongqing region flavors with the remainder split between Dongbei region and Xi’an area fare. Food is great good customer Service did everything right good communication
Our experience was extremely mediocre. While we generally liked everything we ordered, the service left a lot to be desired. Our server was rude, sighed heavily every time I asked a question, and acted like he absolutely did not want to be there. The hot pot was very expensive for what it was since you pay for each type of item individually as well. While not the worst experience, we will not be back.
