My wife and I moved to Heartwood three years ago. This is a great neighborhood with a deep sense of community and care. Set on 350 acres it is twenty five minutes to Durango it is a world away from urban congestion, aggravation, and anonymity. There are currently 24 households but 14 more are being added. A great Cohousing community that has a lot of resources online for managing a community. Great local events and friendly people. Their 2025 Expansion will be exciting for new people to join their eco friendly village.
What a wonderful community of families. Sitting on more than 350 acres it has such an amazing setting. Quiet, peaceful, serene. Folks have to option of sharing communal meals. Phase 2 is in the works! Would love to have a home in a setting like this.
One of the oddest - and unfriendliest - places we visited while researching cohousing. The person responsible for providing dinner didn't fully do so because she wanted to instead 'take care of herself' - so 30+ of us shared a salad for about six.... A couple whose house was for sale couldn't be bothered to actually show it while we were there....
