First off I hope everybody reading this realizes that there are actual staff members that work there @Heartland who will bring in illegal stuff for the patients as long as the patient has the $ they can get what they want, anything from hard drugs to a single cigarette. Being as though I had a family member in there fighting addiction because this person is killing themselves with drugs, I thought he or she would be safe in there but I thought wrong because this place is a joke. My family member was in there over 2 months w... read more

Our experience with Heartland Behavioral Health has been very difficult. While some staff are kind, my daughter’s overall care has not supported healing. Communication is frustrating. I’ve often been told to call back due to staffing or shift changes, and the nurses’ station phone can ring for long periods with no answer. The treatment environment has not been helpful. The plan lists a certain number of therapy groups each week, but those have not happened consistently. Because of safety concerns with other patients, my da... read more

3x and now they deny my son because they claim he wasn't benefiting from their program. Problem is they don't enforce or even try to help. My son is special needs and they made him feel as if it was a vacation spot and communication was beyond terrible. Of course they deny my son when he just tried to commit suicide and was pink slipped by the hospital!!! If I could give 0 stars I definitely would.

However, I do think that there should be more kindness given to them on the whole. I have met some very good caregivers there but I have also met some very rude ones too. Several family members have been hospitalized there. Thankfully, I have not and hope I never do have to go there. This facility could benefit by learning f... read more

This place is the worst place in the world to send a patient that needs help with mental/psychiatric problems. I was there between Christmas and New Years of 2012. The afternoon staff in my pod was the absolute worst "hospital" staff I have ever dealt with. Olivia shouldn't be employed by this place. The treatment that they supposedly provided was worthless, didn't help one bit. They held me longer than they were legally allowed to, telling me everyday that there was a doctor on his way to see and release me. That never happ... read more
