Good vet clinic for large animals friendly and helpful
We brought our puppy to Heartland Vet as an emergency after he fell and broke his arm. They were the only clinic open and close to us at the time. From the beginning, I was transparent about my financial limitations. The vet proceeded to charge the maximum amount I stated I could afford for the first visit alone, despite my understanding that this amount was meant to cover care from start to finish (she asked what I could afford for ALL of it) I was also quoted $110 per visit for the following five required visits. In October 2022, my 1.5-year-old toy poodle–shih tzu mix nearly lost his life due to negligence and misdiagnosis at Heartland Animal Hospital in Listowel. That morning, my dog had vomited and his stool was bloody, clear signs that something serious was wrong. I called Heartland immediately and got an appointment that same day. The staff here are amazing. They make you feel so welcome and are loving to your pets. They don’t force you to do any treatments that aren’t necessary either
