My kiddo has attended Healthy Starts from 2-4 years old and will stay until Kindergarten. He loves this pre-school and all the teachers. Healthy Starts has been extremely convenient for my work life. The teachers made him a memory book with all of his art projects during his first year there. We love that book and are so grateful to the teachers for making such wonderful memories. The director Cindy creates a very warm and safe environment for the kiddos. Highly recommend.
I genuinely suggest thinking twice if your baby may need extra patience or support. My 2-year-old daughter isn’t a native English speaker, and after a 2-hour session over four days, the school told us they couldn’t continue with her because she constantly cried, didn’t understand the teachers, and seemed dissociated. I don’t expect a 2-year-old to understand teachers’ instructions, but fortunately she started at another school the following week and has been doing very well there.
When we moved to Portland with our two young children our biggest concern was their adjustment leaving their old daycare and starting at another. Their transition to Healthy Starts was seamless, enabled by the love and care they receive from the staff every day. The center's physical space is beautiful, the providers are communicative and kind, and it's obvious how much our children love their new community.
Healthy Starts has been great for our kids. The teachers are all caring and helpful in our kid’s development and the leadership is fantastic. The center is welcoming and would highly recommend to other parents.
Both of my children attended Healthy Starts, and we were part of the community for almost six years, from when my daughter started as a one-year-old until my son left this summer to begin kindergarten.
