It was discovered that my fur baby Gabe had a tumor and in a very delicate place. From the point of first contact with Dr. Michelle and the staff, I just knew he was in the best and most capable hands. They genuinely care. They took the time to explain everything to me and put my mind at ease. They even stayed late during surgery to make sure they did absolutely everything they could for Gabe. I absolutely LOVE this vet clinic! You can call them and ask for advice and they will give you their complete honesty on what SHOULD be done and answer your questions on the advice you asked for. Very professional, super supportive and helpful, on the phone and in person. If they're not busy when you call and ask if you can be there within a few minutes for a walk-in appt, to help your pup, that is love for an animal! I love how they do things here! Definitely, highly recommend Healthy Pet - Altoona!
Our 10 year old Husky Lab mix got into some bird seed with raisins. We took her to Allied Emergency Vet in Eau Claire, WI being that it was after our veterinary clinic’s hours. They handled our emergency situation of possible kidney toxicity &/or blockage from bird seed ingestion. It was a very expensive visit. On our follow-up visit the following day with our veterinarian, Dr. Michelle caught the elevated liver levels. She helped us get a regimen of meds going for her. My cat had a tumor on his lung. I didn’t know. He was having coughing fits. One morning I woke up and he couldn’t breathe. Called vets everywhere. “Sorry we’re booked” “sorry you have to drive 1.5 hours to the ER”. So I got in my truck and drove him to a random vet. It happened to be Healthy Pet Altoona. My dog Murfy had hip surgery! He has been having rehab with water therapy and has been getting better after every visit ! He gets excited to go ! I highly recommend Healthy Pet in Altoona and Chetek !
