Can't believe i pay for a health insurance that doesn't cover anything! Won't be paying this year when it comes up. You take close to $500 a month to pay for nothing! Worthless

Listen to me. I deal with insurance for a living getting cancer treatments covered for patients. Your life will be a living hell if you choose hap for your family member. 99.9% of insurances cover self injecting filgrastims and pegfilgrastims at home for count recovery post chemotherapy. Hap is the only insurance in Michigan that bills it as a buy and bill which means you will have to go into the office every day to get the injection. I cannot stress how much you should not use this insurance company.
My employer recently switched to HAP. At first, I thought I would give it a shot thinking "how bad could it be?". I've been on the insurance plan for 2 months now and have endless amounts of problems with these people. I highly advise if you or a loved one is a Type 1 Diabetic to STEER CLEAR of this awful insurance company. They hardly cover any of the traditional medication / devices I use daily for my diabetes management. They don't even follow the prescriptions your doctors write. If you are thinking about signing up for HAP based on their provider list, know that it is not up-to-date. I've called some providers only to find out they haven't been practicing for 10 years. When addressing this issue with HAP, their response was that they send providers a postcard and depend on providers' response as to whether they are still practicing. You would think after 10 years of no postcard returned HAP would contact the provider by phone, but no, it's to their benefit to make it look like they have so many prov... read more
