I was admitted to the emergency room at Viera Hospital on September the 9th. It was extremely busy they were overwhelmed with patients. I have never seen a greater group of people work together, people stayed over time to help and they continually offered each other support throughout the night. At one point they had 29 people admitted to the ER and only 22 beds. But the staff made sure that each of us had blankets and a pillow when they became available. Came in with abnormally bad stomach pain. The NP on staff rolled her eyes at me multiple times and said it was likely just a UTI. I had to beg for a CT scan which led to an emergency appendectomy. I have to say the whole surgical team was amazing from to finish, but the ER team is lacking in compassion and skillset. Confirmation bias is a real thing and should never be found in an ER.

I have been sitting with my mom at the Viera er for over 3 hours. She has a head injury. After an hour of waiting we finally get called back after another 45 min of waiting we finally see a nurse practitioner who asked what happened and said they are going to order a CT. Another hour later we’re still sitting in a hallway be looked over, no one once asked if my mom needs anything. Being passed by multiple nurses. It's VERY unfortunate there's not a lot of medical facilities in the Space Coast area, more specifically Port St. John (PSJ)...We first went to the MedFast Urgent Care Center by Parrish in PSJ, but they were closed...🤦‍♀️ Googled "closest ER near me" and Health First in Cape Canaveral (CC)/Cocoa Beach (CB) and Health First's Viera Hospital ER were the closest. We knew the CC/CB Hospital no longer has OB, but we called them anyways, just to ask if we should go to them first, or if we should go straight to Viera, who has an O... read more

I was in a horrible car accident total loss of both vehicles and i was taken to viera hospital in an ambulance, they took the xray in the room i was in and they discharged me with glass in my head and arms they didnt clean me or dress any of my open bleeding wounds. I was discharged with a concussion and my wife had to ask them to give me ibuprofen for the insane amount of pain i was in. Theyre not thorough in their care here.
