Awful health insurance company. They like to just Deny then Deny, deny testing ordered by their approved and affiliated doctors, even for tumors, risking the health and lives of their patients (who are paying over 10,000 dollars in yearly premium) probably to save few hundred dollars on a test and to prioritize profits and even higher salaries for their executives.
HAP has been the most frustrating insurance experience I’ve ever had. I have Type 2 diabetes and have worked hard with my doctor over the past several years to find a medication that actually works for me. After being on multiple other medications for nearly 20 years without success, I’ve finally been stable and seeing real progress on my current treatment for the last two years. Switched to HAP after many years with Blue Care Network. They denied the most crucial medication that I am prescribed. I did my research before switching and was told the medication was covered. I WASN'T told that I would need to prove a cheaper medication wouldn't work . I've tried the cheaper medication they require and it doesn't treat my condition, which they would know if they requested records. Do Not Chose this provider. I’ve learned the hard way. Their customer service is Horrible and i do not recommend. You will regret if you call them. Get Help and chose someone else. Health Alliance Sucks big time. I first submitted my request to cancel on 10/15/25 that was the beginning of open enrollment. So they made excuse and wouldn’t cancel. I’m 64 and have had many different insurance plans health alliance plan has been the worst I had them many years ago but did not have any issues with them then. 2025 I joined them as a supplement for my Medicare.
