Doing my first HFL retreat was a powerful, impactful experience. It went to work straight away on the way my brain works, with the aim of releasing long held trauma from way back in childhood....Very LONG-held trauma! The method showed signs of working straight away - Amazing! But not a miracle cure either. Repeated retreats have a cumulative effect, and the techniques learnt on the retreat need to be practiced consistently throughout your week, once back at home. WARNING ...Check on previous serious complaints about incidents that have happened in the past! Previously called Mayumari. Liz Mullinar is not professionally trained and chooses volunteer "peer workers" only, some who are still healing. It started off ok but in time I realised I was NOT in a safe place. Firstly I tripped over and hurt my knees in a poorly-lit area, leaving them bleeding, due to unfamiliar surroundings and not enough outdoor lighting. The Heal for Life Retreat is set within the backdrop of the Watagans Forest, in the Hunter Valley of NSW. You will be surrounded by local wildlife that you can observe from a safe distance on the property. The Healing week program was extremely helpful in my ability to release my trauma pain and grief. I just came back from a 5 day retreat and it was amazing!! I highly recommend any one wanting to deal with wounds from childhood trauma to go on this retreat program or have one on one counselling through this organisation.
