This is my experience with Headstart: A psychologist did my autism assessment and it was re-traumatising, invalidating and I feel gaslit. The report they completed has multiple contradictions, I provided so much evidence towards autism but it appeared as though they chose to see a short sentence from a family friend as enough evidence to not meet the criteria. We attended Headstart for diagnostic purposes and the staff where fantastic. They made the whole family feel welcome and where very thorough in diagnosis and report writing. They made a very stressful situation much more bearable.
Professional individual that's highly qualified in their respective division, session is always in demand due to close proximity to Adelaide Road Clinic; and strategic location for northern suburbs. If your a private patients do expect to paid an arm and leg for their services, and also be prepared to be pester with constant inquiries when never you made a payment if you've a private health insurance/NDIS; do know Headstart will charge you more when your NDIS is approved.
