This was a great service for me. It needs to be acknowledged that this clinic isn't meant for a long term support. But for someone like me, who's never had experience with psychologist counseling or therapy, only seeing such in movies, it was a great start line. My suggestion for the team would be increasing patient's awareness of the process. A lot of troubled people and teenagers would be coming to headspace having no prior experience with counseling. Had a bad feeling the moment I spoke to the East Asian receptionist. She spoke really dismissively when I said I was a young adult instead of a teenager and she was insinuating that the younger people took priority over me. Just because I'm older, doesn't mean my problems are smaller. Also realised that there's no clear communication between receptionists and the onboarding team. Mentioned my availabilities multiple times but they don't bother to cross check with records.
Won’t help a teen in crisis. Will talk about how they help but that’s it. If you want another service dumping you in their ‘too hard’ basket you’ll find it here.
