The 2 bedroom home was just perfect. Large and comfy rooms and the kitchen was helpful. Most of the all the location couldn't be beat. A very short 1/2 block walk brought me to 1) The Waiting Room, part of Cafe Beaujolais, for terrific expresso and scones. 2) The Brickery for $9 smash burgers on Wednesday & Thursdays - so delicious 3) Luna Restaurant for absolutely delicious dinner food - so good I went there twice. Would definitely stay at the Headlands Inn again.

We had an exceptoinally unpleasant experience at Highlands Bed and Breakfast. We arrived at 7:30 PM and the place was locked. We found an envelope with our name with a key, the instruction sheet how find a different building where the room was, and the phone number to call if we couldn't find it. We followed the instructions to a tee but could not find the place. We made multiple phone calls and nobody answered. We left multiple messages. This Inn was a fantastic place to stay. So charming and quaint! We especially loved the breakfast and afternoon tea with cookies! The location was great, we could walk to everything! The Inn is close to the street so there is some street noise but nothing major. We did not realize that we would only be filling out the breakfast request sheet just once for morning beverages and dietary restrictions. Charming, hospitable inn right in the middle of Mendocino. We stayed at the Caspar Cottage which was private with a spa and fireplace. We were also able to park conveniently right outside the front door.
