Overall, just not impressed – I agree with the person who commented before me. I didn't have a good experience at Head Games. I felt the staff was a definitely a little snobby and the music was so loud there was no way I could relax. I probably won't go back...not worth the money I spent
my happy place – I have been going to head games since I moved to Portland a year and a half ago. I have had a pleasant experience every time I've gone. The people who work there are friendly, welcoming, and warm. I have worked with a few different people including Maureen for waxing (the best waxing experience I've ever had BY FAR (and I'm not just saying that because of the beer I usually down before I go in)), and Jessica and Katherine for hair cuts. Awesome service - great cut and color! – As a first timer seeking a new stylist, I was a bit nervous about having someone different do my hair and highlights, but I was so happy with Jessica Grenier's great personality and incredible talent! This salon put me at ease as soon as I walked in the door. Very cool place to go - I'm definitely coming back. Thanks, Jessica - my hubby loves it!
Where do I begin? FANTASTIC! – I walked in the door stressed to the max (my ex-stylist flaked on my appointment the day before) and I had a class reunion to go to that evening. Jessica (a relatively new stylist at Head Games) was great on the phone, and when I walked in the door on the morning of my big event she was ready to go to work. It was soooo much fun. AMAZING body wax – Maureen was amazing, it was my first time getting waxed and she made me feel extremely comfortable. She knows exactly what she is doing and how it feels to be a first timer. She has plenty of regulars and just gained a new one! My only regret was not bringing cash to tip her (headgames doesn't accept tips on credit cards).

I highly recommend Kate... she is an Amazing stylist! – I've lived in Maine for 14 years and have been to just about every salon in Portland. I have have not be able to find a stylist who knows the right color for me and is skilled at cutting hair with a lot of curl. I've finally found Kate at Head Games Salon in Portland and hope that she never moves away! Hairdresser for all ages – My 20 and 30 something daughters recommended Maureen at Headgames, but I felt I was too old for someone young and cool. Maureen was terrific! She put me at ease, gave me good suggestions and did a great job on my hair. I was surprised by all the compliments I received, and I'm going back to have her do more.
Bikini Wax=Maureen – I have never described a bikini wax as pleasant, but having had one this afternoon with Maureen I may have to revise my opinion. Maureen is delightful, not only engaging and intelligent about her craft but she advertises "gentle hair removal". She delivers. I don't know what her secret potion is, but it works.... Almost didn't feel it. Okay, maybe I felt it but she talks you through what she's doing. I'll be back.
