The booking process is archaic. For starters, you can't book online. If you call, you will be told all operators are busy and will be put on hold for 15 minutes, only to then be connected to an answering machine and told to leave your name and number. The staff will then not call you back for at least two weeks, by which point you will have probably already made alternative arrangements at an independent dental clinic, as I had to. Not really helpful, could not quote a budget for an item number quoted by another dentist. I was just trying to compare what budget cost HCF would charge for a crown with a specific item number and was told that I would need to come in for an assessment. It is strange that they can set an amount that you receive back in benefits but cannot identify the base cost of an item (not even a ball park cost).
I’ve been a member of HCF Dental for many years and have always found the dentists themselves to be good. Unfortunately, the booking process a Bondi lets this company down. When I recently called to book a general clean and check-up, I was placed on hold for 10 minutes and then hung up on when 5pm arrived. When I called back the following day, I was spoken to very rudely because I didn’t have my membership number with me and asked if I could be looked up — something that was treated as a major inconvenience.
